Anchorage Airport Traffic Control Tower Fire Life Safety Modernization

Following the FAA mission of safety, the Anchorage Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT), Base Building, and Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) facility required modernization to operate safely while a replacement facility was being designed and built. Repairs to the fire separations throughout were made, along with replacement of the fire alarm system, as well as updates to the stair pressurization system. As with all renovations, this project had its unique challenges. The overall level of safety for air traffic controllers was improved, contributing to the safety of the flying public.
